Electrical Maintenance Technician

Job Summary:  Full-time opening with an established, successful manufacturing company in the Alabaster area. Opportunity for a strong performer to move into manager role in three years when manager retires.

Schedule & Pay:
  • FULL TIME; Mon-Fri day shift (overtime opportunity available).

  • $30.00 - $35.00 /hr. to start, depending on experience & skills.
  • Eligible for monthly profit-sharing after first 4 months (average typically $100 - $125 or more per month).
Here's What Your Day-to-Day Looks Like:
  • Responsible for analysis, testing, and routine maintenance and repair of electrical systems and equipment with emphasis on PLC hardware and programming
  • Diagnose causes of malfunctions or failures and perform preventive/corrective maintenance
  • Repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment such as motors, pneumatic tools, production machines and equipment
  • Implement safety controls onto machinery
  • Diagnose, replace and maintain damaged or faulty mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic components of machines and equipment
  • Connect power supply wires to machines and equipment, and connect cables and wires between machines and equipment
  • Maintain electrical component inventories and makes recommendations for purchase and replenishment
  • Work closely with engineering department personnel to implement plan improvement projects
  • Plan layout of wiring and install wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in plant
  • Replace electric motor bearings and rewire motors. Lubricate and clean parts
Here's What Makes YOU a Great Fit:
  • Minimum of 5 years of related work experience (preferably in manufacturing/industrial environment) preferred
  • Certified Electrician with the State of Alabama a plus
  • HS Diploma or GED; B.S. Degree in Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related field a plus
  • General knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, electrical systems, basil welding, and fabrication
  • Must be able to read and interpret mechanical prints and diagrams
  • Must be physically able to perform the work assigned; occasionally lift or carry 50 lbs
  • Good work ethic; punctual & dependable; take pride in your work
  • Good teamwork and communication skills
